This qualification is aimed at anyone at the level of supervisor, team leader or manager who has health and safety duties or the responsibility for the safety of others, including anybody preparing to start at this level.
In this course, you will learn about the impacts that accidents, injuries and work-related health have on individuals, businesses and the economy as a whole, as well as the laws that protect and promote workplace safety and the consequences of non-compliance. You will learn about risk assessments – why they matter and how to conduct one, COSHH, how to use equipment safely and what can happen if you don’t, and the principles of fire safety. You will gain an understanding of the risks to office and desk workers, and how ergonomics, manual handling training and placement of display screen equipment can affect this, and the role that line managers and supervisors have to play in workplace safety.

At the end of the course, you’ll take a multiple-choice assessment to test what you’ve learned.
