Scottish Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH)

This is an ideal qualification for anyone working, or preparing to work, in the retailing of alcohol on any kind of premises in Scotland. Covering a range of topics from the laws you need to be aware of regarding the sale of alcohol to the people you have a responsibility to protect, this course will prepare you for all aspects of working in the industry and enables you to apply for a personal licence of your own. 

Within the course, you’ll be taken through topics covering licencing law and how it relates to your role, the difference between personal and premises licences and why they are important, and about the responsible sale of alcohol, including recognising a vulnerable person and being able to identify who to and who not to sell to. You’ll also learn about measures to ensure the protection of children, how to prepare for temporary events, and more about how licencing laws are enforced.

Licencing laws cover a huge variety of sectors and outlets including the hospitality industry and bars, pubs and clubs right through to retail in supermarkets, off-licenses and shops, and the events industry. Non-compliance and breaching of these laws can result in hefty fines and severe consequences. This e-learning course provides you with all the knowledge you would need to apply for your own personal licence and to sell alcohol safely.
